How to Program a Sharp Universal Remote

  1. Step 1

Locate the programming code for your device if you do not have access to it. You can do so by conducting a "Component Code Search." You will need to turn your television on and aim the universal remote control at the television.

  2. Step 2

Press the "TV" button on the top of the remote control. Press and hold down the "Code Set" button located directly in the middle of the top of the remote control. When the red signal light begins to flash, let the button go.

  3. Step 3

Slowly key in the numbers "9", "9", "1" on your Sharp remote control keypad. The red signal light should blink each time you key in a number. (This is the stationary code for Sharp Universal Programming.) Press the "Power" and "TV" buttons slowly. Alternate between the two buttons repeatedly until the television screen powers off. When it does so, this is your indication that the device is now ready to be programmed.

  4. Step 4

Leave the television off before proceeding. Press the "Code Set" button at the top of the remote control to configure and finalize locking the code into the television. Press the "Power" button on the remote control device, and the television should power on as well. Browse through the television channels and configure your remote and television settings to ensure the device is functioning properly.

Tips & Warnings
