1
Choose a source for fashion inspiration, whether online sites such as iVillage or magazine websites. Signing up to receive free catalogs from your favorite stores is an easy way to stay current on fashions and trends.
-
2
Go through your closet at least once every season and evaluate what still fits, and what is still in style. Keep clothes that are out of season in a separate place. When you go to get them out, they will feel like new because they haven't been staring at you every day.

Brainstorm new wardrobe combinations based on the inspiration you find from your fashion sources. Find a consignment store near you and sell anything you haven't worn in the past year, or sell items on Craigslist or eBay. Use the income to buy accessories and shoes. Just updating accessories will give you a fresh look. Shop at off-price or thrift stores to stretch your consignment dollars.

Tips & Warnings
If you decide clothing is your passion, apply for a part-time job at your favorite store. At some stores you can work as few as four hours per week, but still get a substantial employee discount.
Consider a clothing swap. Invite friends to trade unwanted clothing and accessories so everyone has something "new."
