Foggy headlights not only effect the look of the car, but the way things look from the car by giving off a dimmer version of the light it once provided. Though foggy headlights may not be a safety issue, they can be irritating. Clearing up that hazy appearance is a very simple task that won't take much in the way of time or money and will have headlights looking like new in no time.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Drill Clean soft cloth White toothpaste Carburetor cleaner WD-40 Rubbing compound
  1. Step 1

    Drill a small hole in the bottom of the lens to relieve condensation. Once fresh air gets in there it will alleviate and prevent condensation.

  2. Step 2

    Apply white toothpaste to a soft clean cloth and rub the lens with it in small circular motions. Rinse the lens with clean water before the toothpaste dries.

  3. Step 3

    Spray carburetor cleaner on a dry clean cloth and wipe the lens thoroughly. Spray WD-40 on the lens and polish the lens with it.

  4. Step 4

    Apply rubbing compound to the lens with a soft clean cloth and buff the shine back with a separate dry clean cloth.

Tips & Warnings
  • It is recommended to wear gloves and work in a properly ventilated area when dealing with chemicals.
