The Motorola Razr cell phone was released in 2004. At the time, it was one of the thinnest and most capable cell phones to be released to the American and European markets, and the Razr was also one of the first mobile phones to have a camera as a standard option. By 2005, the Razr had gained significant market share; it has shipped in excess of 150 million phone units since it first went into production. The Razr can also sync to a computer to allow the user to download pictures taken on the phone, to avoid message-transfer charges by sending the images via Media Message or email.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Motorola Phone Tools Software
  1. Step 1

Buy and download the Motorola PhoneTools software from Motorola or other authorized retailer and install on your computer. The software is required for your computer to recognize the Motorola phone and to subsequently conduct the file transfer of the photographs.

  2. Step 2

Launch Motorola PhoneTools on your computer by double-clicking the application icon. Turn on your phone and connect to the computer via USB cable. The software will synchronize with the phone, and will display the phone contents on a right-hand screen and the computer image on the left side window.

  3. Step 3

Transfer images from your Motorola Razor to the computer by holding a left mouse-click on the picture you want to transfer and dragging it to the destination drive on the left-hand side of the PhoneTools application screen. Continue until all desired pictures are transferred. Pictures and ring tones can also be transferred from the computer to the Razr in the same manner.

  4. Step 4

When file transfer is complete, right-click the "Device Connected" icon on the Windows toolbar and select "Disconnect." Once a menu prompt appears stating "This device can safely be removed," unplug the Razr phone from the computer.

Tips & Warnings
  • Verify prices of the Motorola Phone Tools software from resellers before buying directly from the company.
