1
Identify the windows that will accept window frames. Windows need to be recessed at least 1/2 inch to accept frames. Windows that sit flush against the house wall cannot hold frames.
-
2
Measure the interior perimeter of your recessed windows with the tape measure.
-
-
3
Cut the PVC pipe into lengths with the saw, based on your measurements. Assume that you will need one length of pipe for each side of the window's perimeter.
-
4
Assemble the frames using your cut piping and the PVC elbows, tapping each joint with the mallet. You may need to trim the pipe edges to account for the length of the elbows. The goal is to create a simple square that will fit snugly into the window recess.
-
5
Affix the Christmas lights to the window frames using the zip ties.
-
6
Press the window frames into the windows' recesses. Use shimmies in the bottom corners, if needed, to assure a snug fit. Ideally, the frames should sit in the windows by pressure alone and require no further mounting.

Tips & Warnings
You may want to paint your window frames to better match your exterior colors, if PVC white stands out against your home. If you desire a more secure mount, hammer two nails into the upper corners of your window recesses so that the scan fit behind them. These nails will help hold the frames in place.

You may want to try window framers offered by Frame Your Holiday. They attach to the glass pane.
