Step 1
Plug your iPod Shuffle into your computer and open iTunes. Once iTunes is open, click on the iPod Shuffle located on the left side of the program. Then, click the "Settings" tab at the top of the program. Once you've done this, click the "Restore" tab in the middle of the program. You must restore your iPod to the factory settings first. When the iPod Shuffle is fully restored, close the iTunes program.

Download the trial version of Anapod Explorer. This is the program you will be using to add songs to your iPod Shuffle.

Install Anapod Explorer. Once the program is installed, you should notice two different iPod icons on the right side of your taskbar which is the bar on the bottom of your computer screen. Right click over the iPod Shuffle icon and select "Open Anapod Explorer." After Anapod Explorer opens, right click over the iPod Shuffle once more. This time, select "Connect iPod Shuffle."

Go to the open Anapod Explorer program and click the "Anapod Shuffler" link on the left side of the screen. You will see several different options appear in the middle of the program. Double click on the "iPod Shuffle Memory" option.

Find the songs that you want to add to the iPod Shuffle by browsing through the folders listed on the left side of the Anapod Explorer program. You should notice that this program is no different than "My Computer." Locate the folder that contains your songs and open the folder. From there, you can drag songs to "iPod Shuffle Memory."

Repeat the previous step until you've finished adding songs to your iPod Shuffle. Then, right click over the iPod Shuffle icon in the taskbar and select "Disconnect iPod Shuffle." After you have done this, you can close the Anapod Explorer program and disconnect your iPod Shuffle from your computer.
