Things You'll Need:
- Sony Vegas video editing software for PC.
-
Step 1
First you'll need to open the software and create a document. Start by clicking File-new at the top and hit okay for the window that pops up. The vegas interface can look pretty complicated at first but it's all relatively easy.
-
Step 2
Let's add some footage to work with. Go to file-imports-media and select a video clip and afterwards a song to import into vegas. If you're not alread in the "project media" tab at the bottom after you do this, then do so after you import.
-
Step 3
Now that we have these in vegas, we need to create a video track and an audio track. Do this by right clicking on the side panel underneith the 00:00:00.00, and click "add video track" and after click "add audio track".
-
Step 4
After creating both, drag the song into the bottom track (the audio track) and drag the video clip into the top track. If the video has audio with it, it will create another track. If you don't want this audio too, you can just delete the audio track that it creates. We're just going to use some basic effects to get things started. After your video is placed there, select 15 seconds into it by clicking on the clip. You will see a line passing through. Click "s" to split this media into two, and delete the second half.
-
Step 5
Now in the clip that's remaining, we're going to fade it in. Do this by clicking in the top left corner of the clip, and while holding the mouse button down, drag it to the right as far in as you want it to fade.
-
Step 6
After this...we're going to do a fade from 2 clips. Go to about the 8 second mark and click s again to split these clips. After you've done this, click on the second clip and drag it into the first clip a little but. After this...fade out the second clip. You may cut the audio by using the same method to make it match the length of the clip, and also you can fade it in and out.
-
Step 7
Now go to file - render as - and save it to a place that you want. You're done! Click on the video where you saved it and see how it looks!
