How to Make a Newspaper Sailor Hat
Kids love to play with hats, and they’ll have fun making them as well. Help your children make newspaper sailor hats that they can use during role playing or to designate teams in a party game. When the hats are complete, the kids can decorate them. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions

1
Lay one full piece of newspaper flat on the table. One sheet can become four newspaper sailor hats if you want small ones. Simply divide the newspaper piece into four equal parts.
-
2
Fold the sheet of paper in half.
-
-
3
Grab the upper corners and fold them into a triangle that stops about 2 to 3 inches from the bottom of the paper. Newspaper sailor hats have a tendency to fall apart, so make your folds nice and tight. Crease the paper for best results.
-
4
Fold up both sides of the bottom edge so that they overlap the triangles you made with your last fold. With one folded on each side they make a brim for your newspaper sailor hat.
