1
Mudrooms make a great place for the laundry. Make sure to give yourself enough room to maneuver between washing, drying and folding.
-
2
If you cook alot, the mudroom is a perfect spot for an additional freezer for all your food that won't fit in your kitchen.

3
Install a wall-mount cubby/peg fixture to hold everything from pet food to winter coats and scarves. If there are several of you in the family, designate a cubby for each person- this will eliminate lost items and timely searches when you're in a hurry.

Aside from family items, the mudroom is perfect for lawn care items such as fertilizer and gardening tools, as well as pet foods and leashes.
-
5
The mudroom is best placed between a home entrance and the kitchen. This way it is not the first spot a visitor sees, yet it is still a perfect transitional space.
-
6
Proper flooring is key in a mudroom- keep it simple and easy to clean; such as vinyl, textured tile and stone. Concrete is also an option for flooring in a mudroom, but it is best etched or stained as it will show spills and imperfections.
