How to Cure and Control Asthma
To cure and control asthma, there are a number of simple steps you can take. While there is no cure that works for all people and all severities of asthma, most people can reduce or eliminate their asthma symptoms by making a few basic lifestyle changes.

1
Consult your doctor for an accurate diagnosis of your asthma. He will test you, determine your asthma triggers, and help you form an asthma treatment plan. This may include asthma drugs, but must also address lifestyle changes. Ask your doctor about natural remedies.
-
2
Keep an asthma diary. Track your use of asthma medications, the occurrence of symptoms, and your exposure to asthma triggers.
-
-
3
Avoid asthma triggers. These can include indoor triggers such as pets, smoking, and household chemicals, as well as outdoor triggers such as smog.
-
4
Purchase an air purifier. This will reduce many of the airborne asthma triggers found inside your house.
-
5
Exercise daily. This will increase your aerobic fitness and help you in your battle against asthma. If you are prone to exercise-induced asthma, then be sure to pre-medicate as prescribed by your doctor.
-
6
Eat healthy foods. Shift your diet towards more fresh fruits and vegetables. This will boost your immune system and help you defend against viral and bacterial infections.
-
7
Maintain a healthy weight. If your Body Mass Index (BMI) is above 25, you should adopt a weight loss plan. Shedding extra pounds will help alleviate your asthma symptoms.
-
8
Get plenty of sleep and rest. This will improve your overall health, boost your immune system, and help you control your asthma.

Tips & Warnings
If you have coexisting problems such as GERD, allergic rhinitis, and sinusitis, consult your doctor. Treating these conditions can help control your asthma.
There is no cure for asthma. There are only treatments. Many "natural cures" and doctor-prescribed asthma drugs can help you control symptoms, but understand that these are asthma treatments, not asthma cures.
