Booklets are a quick and easy way of assembling large amounts of information into a single, portable format. Whether your booklet is for sharing news, organization rules or your latest story, you can effortlessly create it in Microsoft Word. As the standard in word processing software, Word comes equipped with numerous page layout capabilities that can efficiently handle your booklet layout.

      Open Microsoft Word. If a new document does not automatically open, go to "File" and click "New."

      Go to "File" and click "Page Setup." Select the "Margins" tab.

      Under the "Pages" section, select the "Multiple Pages" drop-down menu. Select "Book fold."

      Enter the amount of space you want for the inner and outer margins in the "Inside" and "Outside" fields if you wish to change it. Enter the amount of space you want for the spine or binding of your booklet in the "Gutter" field.

      Go to the "Sheets per booklet" drop-down menu in the "Pages" section. Select the number of pages you want to have included in your booklet. Click "OK" to close the "Page Setup" window.

Tips & Warnings

  • It is possible for you to create a book fold and apply it to an existing document, but you may need to reposition text and other images to accommodate the new layout. It is better to start off with a new document and add your content after you have first setup the layout.
