Instructions

You are going to wash your rims and tires one at a time, so these steps will be repeated four times. First, fill your bucket with hot water and add the liquid soap. Usually two capfuls of soap is all that is needed for a bucket.

    • 2

Next, spray your rim and tire thoroughly with hose water to remove all surface dirt. Now, dip your dishwasher brush in the soap and scrub the outside of the tire and rim.

    • 3

Pat dry the rim and the outside of the tire with one of your cloth diapers, you should have one diaper per wheel. Now apply the tire shine to the tire only, this should make your wheel appear "super black". I prefer a tire shine sponge as opposed to spray because it is cleaner.

Now wipe the rim with the diaper, paying careful attention to removing any tire shine material that has gotten on the rim. This will also remove any excess dirt on the rim that has not been scrubbed or sprayed off.

    • 5

Finally, dip a toothbrush in the hot, soapy water and use it to get in the cracks where your fingers do not fit on the rim. Make sure it is an old toothbrush, so the bristles will be very soft and flexible. Finally, wipe the rim dry again with your diaper.

Enjoy the look of your showroom rims and wheels.

Tips & Warnings

  • After you finish, run the cloth diapers through the laundry (not with clothes) so you can reuse them in the future. You can also reuse the old toothbrush and dishwasher brush.
