There are many options that can help you keep your legs hair free and silky looking. While some hair-removal methods are expensive or involve chemicals, a simple razor can work wonders. Razors are economical, portable and less damaging to your skin and the environment than harsh chemicals. By following a simple regime every day or so, you will have smooth legs all summer long.
Soak your legs in warm water in the bath or in the shower. This will soften your leg hair, and enable you to get a close shave.
Exfoliate your legs. Use a loofah or shower puff to do this. Hold the loofah on your skin and scrub lightly in a circular motion. Do this up and down both legs. This will remove dead skin cells, which can clog your razor's blade. Removing dead skin cells also brightens your skin, helping you get that silky smooth look.
Apply shaving cream. You can use shaving cream or foam, and in a pinch you can use soap. Shaving cream helps soften your leg hair, and keeps your skin moisturized while you shave. It also helps reduce the chances you will cut yourself while shaving.
Shave your legs. Use a fresh, sharp razor. If you can feel the blades dragging on your skin, it is time to change your razor. Change your razor often to make sure you get a close shave. Using a sharp razor also reduces the chances you will nick yourself while shaving. Shave in the direction opposite to the hair growth, so start at your ankle and shave upwards. You can shave over the same area a couple of times to make sure you get all the hair, but don't do this too much as it can irritate your skin.
Rinse your legs. Pat your legs dry, and apply moisturizer.
