Step 1
I've been writing product reviews for some time now. What I've learned along the way can be summed up in one acronym..... K.I.S.S. (Keep It Simple, Stupid) Get to the point, don't rant, and offer all the relative information needed.
-
Step 2
Give A Good Title - When titling your article, don't be vague. The title, "A great soap!" would not be found through a search engine. However, the title, "Tide Laundry Detergent: Product Review" would reach out to people looking for information on that product.
-
Step 3
Explain The Product - Briefly, sum up what the product is and what it's used for. For example: Tide Detergent is a laundry soap that is available in powder or liquid form, etc.
-
Step 4
What Does The Product Claim To Do? - Tell readers what the product was made for, and how it will, supposedly, impact their life. For example: Tide Detergent claims that it will whiten and brighten clothes, and remove even the worst stains, etc.
-
Step 5
What Does The Product Actually Do? - If the product lived up to it's expectations, say so! If not, explain WHY it didn't provide the results it claimed to. For example: Tide Detergent really does brighten clothes and leaves them smelling fresh. However, it did not effectively remove grass stains from my child's clothing.
-
Step 6
Pros & Cons - What's good about the product? What's bad? List them and be clear on what you're saying. For example: The Pros of Tide Detergent, are the fresh smell and the way it brightened the clothes. The Cons are that it is expensive, and didn't remove all the stains.
-
Step 7
Add Some Personality - Don't just mull along, rambling to try to fill up space. Instead, really throw your personality into the review. Try to write the same way you talk. For example: "Tide Detergent is honestly one of THE BEST laundry detergents that I've tried! It smells like a burst of sunshine when you open the bottle."
-
Step 8
How Much Is It? - Give the price that you paid for the product, and if you thought it was worth that price. Also, detail the different sizes, colors, etc. that are available. For example: Tide Detergent can be purchased at any department, or grocery store, for around $ XXXXX, depending on the size of the bottle. It is available in "X" size, or "X" size. Because it effectively removes stains, the price seems very reasonable.
