Go to the resource section to register and before uploading any images using your digital camera make sure it's in JPEG format, resolution must not be less than 2400x1600 pixels or 4MP, images should be in normal aspect ratios, files should be less than 30 MB/JPEG, and do not re-size images it must be in their original resolution.

You should be the author of all files and if you photograph human faces, buildings, trademarks or places protected by an intellectual property rights you must have a model release for each person, buildings, trademarks, and properties. You can download a model release form from the website.

In order to cash out you will be require to submit a scannable government id to ensure Fotolia and their members from fraudulent sales.

There are 2 systems that Fotolia use one is the credit system, which is pay-per-download and the other is the subscription program. By using either systems Fotolia determines the commission amount. In the US one credit is $1.00, once you reached 50 credits you can cash out through Paypal or Moneybooker.

on 4/27/2009 Thanks for the information about Fotolia. I will check this out. It is interesting to hear about a site that would pay for use of your photos. However I wonder how safe it is to submit them a scannable ID. Do you mean fax them a copy of your drivers license, for instance?
