Decide how clear your pictures need to be. In order to choose the best small digital camera, you will need to know how many megapixels you need. The more megapixels, the clearer the picture. A 10 megapixel camera will give you a decent picture. You should avoid buying anything under 5 megapixels unless you are buying a camera for a child.

Consider whether you need a small digital camera with or without the LCD screen. If you need to make sure the picture you took came out the way you want it, you will need the LCD screen. If you don't need to view the photos until you get home and upload them to your computer, then you will be fine without an LCD screen.
