How to Make Radish Rosettes

Whether you're making a special dinner for two or a tray for a party, radish rosettes are both quick to make and quick to impress. A time-tested treat that will garnish any cold dish with flair, these tasty vegetables look just as nice when served in a bowl by themselves.

Things You'll Need

• Sharp paring knife

Instructions

1. Remove the roots and stems and scrub the entire bunch of radishes.

2. Using the paring knife, slice four pieces from the sides of the radish, evenly spaced and the thickness of a nickel, exposing the white flesh beneath.

3. Holding the radish root side down, make two thin slices on each side over the white area, cutting two-thirds of the way down the side.

4. Bend the slices out by using the edge of the knife and prying gently.

5. Scoop out a hole in the center of the top of the radish.

6. Place the finished rosettes in a bowl of ice water. The "petals" will open in about 15 minutes.
