Instructions

    • 1

Begin at the nape of the neck. Using a fine-toothed comb, make a horizontal part even with the hair line.

    • 2

Make a second, vertical part in the previously parted row of hair. The part should create a 1/2-inch square.

    • 3

Separate a 1/2-inch thick piece of Kankelon hair, taking it into both hands. Hold the piece so that the Kankelon hair is draped over the forefingers, with the length of it grasped firmly in the palms.

    • 4

Grab parted section of hair at the scalp between the thumb and index fingers while still holding the Kankelon hair firmly. Using the left thumb and index finger, wrap the Kankelon hair tightly around parted hair, making a "knot" at the scalp.

    • 5

Braid the hair all the way down at least just past the length of the real hair.

    • 6

Repeat Steps 1 through 6 until the entire head is completed.

    • 7

Secure the ends of the braid using a snag-less rubber band or a hair bead. The ends may also be secured by dipping them into a pot of boiling hot water for a few seconds once all of the extensions are completed.

Tips & Warnings

  • Redo braid extensions along the hairline every 2 to 3 weeks to maintain a fresh look. Wash braid extensions every few weeks and apply a light grease to scalp to prevent dryness. Wrap braid extensions at night with a satin scarf or sleep on a satin pillowcase to make them last longer. Use a braid spray on extensions to keep them from looking dull and dry.

  • Do not put braid extensions in too tight; especially along the hairline. This can cause the hair to thin or break. Do not leave braid extensions in too long. Do not use too much grease on the scalp or heavy buildup may occur.
