Many spas claim that using their mineral body wrap services can help men and women lose 4 to 10 inches off their waists, thighs and stomachs in a matter of hours. However, these treatments are extremely pricey, and many people feel uncomfortable being naked in front of strangers, even when those strangers are certified spa professionals. Fortunately, you can get the same results at home, for a fraction of the cost, with a little help from a friend and a big bucket of hot water.

- 12 wrap bandages
- Sea clay or Dead Sea mineral cream
Soak the wrap bandages in a bucket full of hot water. You want them to be as hot as possible, so you may want to bring the water all the way to boiling before you pour it into the bucket. The wraps will be in there for a while, and you do not want them to cool completely.
Smear a thin layer of sea clay on each leg. The clay should cover your leg completely, but it should not be too thick. Do not rub it into your legs like lotion, but rather smooth it on as if you were icing yourself.
Wrap each leg with a wrap bandage. Before applying the bandage, make sure that it is not so hot that it will burn you. However, make sure that the bandage is still very warm. The bandage should extend from your ankle to the underside of your buttocks. When you are done with both legs it will appear that you are wearing high stockings or chaps. Wrap each circuit around the leg once so that there is no skin showing, but do not layer the bandages. The wrapped circles should overlap only slightly. You may need two bandages for each leg.
Cover your stomach and back with a layer of the sea clay. Use another wrap bandage to encircle your body. Wrap it snugly, but not so tight as to be uncomfortable. You should stop just below the underside of your breasts, and cross the bandage over each shoulder so that you have an X across your chest.
Wrap each arm and shoulder with a wrap bandage. The wrap should cover your entire shoulder and extend to your wrist. As before, it should be snug but not cut off your circulation, and the layers of the wrap should overlap only slightly.
Cover the buttocks and pelvic area with a final wrap bandage. It will look kind of like a mini skirt. You should still be able to walk, but you will have to shuffle.
Wait 70 minutes. If you have a steam room, sauna or sauna suit, then you may wish to spend this time in this area. If you feel faint or dizzy, however, come out immediately. If you do not have any of these things, then turn the shower on hot in your bathroom until the room fills with steam and remain in there for the required period of time.
Unwrap yourself and throw the bandages away. Your skin will have absorbed the sea clay and the minerals from it, and it may look rather ashy. You can wipe yourself off, but do not shower or bathe for 24 to 48 hours. Stay very hydrated. You will notice that your body's contours appear smoother and your waist and legs will appear slimmer.
