Use a calling card to make a phone call from anywhere without worrying about having spare change.
Things You'll Need
- Cellular Phone Batteries
- Cellular Phones
- Telephone Calling Cards
Consider shopping online to find the calling card that best suits your needs.
Keep in mind that you can also purchase prepaid calling cards for a flat price. Some prepaid cards let you add credits to them as the credits run out.
Locate the toll free 800 or 888 network-access number on the card, and dial from any touch-tone phone.
Enter your personal identification (PIN) number, or follow the instructions on the card.
Dial the telephone number you wish to call. If you are dialing a number within the United States, dial 1 + area code + phone number; if you are calling outside the country, dial 011 + country code + city code + phone number.
Tips & Warnings
- If you have a prepaid calling card, you will be notified over the phone as to how much "talk time" you have remaining on your card, and you will also receive a 1-minute-remaining warning.
