How to Draw a DUB Car

DUB-style cars are known for their flash, shine and unique design. A DUB-style car can be made from any automobile as long as it sports shiny rims, a cool paint job and a tricked out interior. You can add DUB magazine style designs to virtually any car on the market. Drawing a car of this style requires you to use basic geometric shapes like cubes, triangles and circles to make the frame of the car. The designs, like racing stripes and tinted windows, will be added after the structure of the car is built on your page.

Instructions

    • 1

Draw a rectangular cube for the hood of the car. Add a rectangle to the left side of this. Create the guideline for the front windshield out of a rectangular shape. Make this four-sided shape shorter at the top than the bottom. Attach a triangle to the left side of the windshield for the left side window.

    • 2

Create wheels by drawing circles on the left front and back sides. Add a small rectangular cube to the front of the car for a bumper. Draw the wind spoiler with a triangle and attach two horizontal parallel lines to this. Under the spoiler add a small thin rectangle.

    • 3

Add the side view mirrors with rectangular shapes that are wider on the outside edge. Add these to the top end corner of the hood. Create headlights with rectangular shapes. Make the inside edges of these shapes slant down diagonally towards the bumper. Add a vent to the front of the bumper with a long pentagon (five-sided) shape. Add the front right-hand side wheel with a small square under the front right corner of the bumper.

    • 4

Draw the grill with a rectangular shape above the bumper. Make the top side wider than the bottom. Draw the door with a curved vertical line starting at the base of the left side edge of the window. Add one line along the left-hand center side of the car. Make these parallel to the top and bottom lines of the side rectangle.

    • 5

Add three small rectangles on the front of the car. Make the tires three-dimensional by adding a curved line to the three visible tires. Place these lines on the right side of each tire. Connect these lines with small horizontal lines at the bottom of each wheel. Draw two diagonal lines on the left and right side of the hood to act as a guideline for the raised engine. Add the handle of the door with at the upper left-hand corner of the door. Do this by drawing a rectangle with a semi circle attached to the left side.

    • 6

Add rims to the wheel with tapered rectangular shapes. Make the top line of these shapes curved to match the rim of the wheel. Draw six of these shapes on each wheel. Add the raised engine with two horizontal lines on the hood of the car that bend down at each end. Make the grill on the front of the car by drawing diagonally intersecting lines.

    • 7

Add intersecting vertical and horizontal lines on the front vent. Draw the racing stripes with parallel lines running the diagonally up the hood, roof and spoiler of the car.

    • 8

Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry and erase the pencil. Darken in the racing stripes with markers. Do the same for the windows to make them appear tinted. Darken the tires and the six rectangular vents on the front of the car.

Tips & Warnings

  • Trace out different patterns on the car lightly in pencil to experiment with different designs.

  • Let the ink dry before erasing the pencil lines or the ink will smudge. Place a sheet of paper under the drawing when you are darkening in the windows and racing stripes.
