Creating a calendar on-line has never been easier. There are a number of third-party hosted services available on the Internet to create private or publicly shared calendars. Programs such as Microsoft Office Outlook's "Calendar" application are ripe with features, including the ability to synchronize calendar events with applications used in the workplace. Google Calendar is one of the most popular free, third-party calenders in use on the Web that permits import of events from other company products.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Create a Gmail account at Gmail.com.

  2. Step 2

    Select the "Create Calendar" option at the Google Calendar home page.

  3. Step 3

    Input a calendar name, description, time zone and security setting (private or public).

  4. Step 4

    Select the "Create Calendar" menu option to initiate the calendar creation with personal settings input in step 3.

    Create calendar events by clicking on the starting hour and day of the scheduled event.

  6. Step 6

    Fill in event data such as title, length of event, location and description.

    Select the "Sync menu" item for directions on synching your Google calendar with other schedule applications such as Microsoft Outlook.

Tips & Warnings
  • Don't make your Google Calendar public unless you intend to export it to a website.
