Once you have picked out the perfect font for you,just click on the appropiate download link in regards to your desired font type and operating system.The downloading process is different for windows and Macintosh. If you have no idea the difference between TrueType and PostScript, you should go with downloading TrueType fonts.

All of the fonts found on this site are packaged in ZIP archives (*.zip),which may include author and copyright information next to the actual font file. Before installing a font, you must decompress the ZIP archive somewhere to your hard drive using a tool like WinZip. Best is to extract the ZIP to a temporary folder (C:\Temp).

These are the basic instruction for those using Windows.Open the Windows Control Panel
(» START » SETTINGS » CONTROL PANEL) -

Double click on the "Fonts" icon in the Control Panel
(a new window should open and you should see all the installed fonts on your system) -

Click on the "File" menu and select "Install New Fonts"
(a new window "Add Fonts" should pop up) -

Locate the folder on your hard drive containing the extracted fonts from step 1.

Double Click on the font file you wish to install and click on the "OK" button.

Here are the instructions for systems running on Macintosh.Like with Windows,you have to decompress the files.All of the fonts found on 1001fonts.com are packaged in either SIT (*.sit) or HQX (*.hqx) archives, which may also include author and copyright information next to the actual font file. Before installing a font, you must extract the font archive to some place on your harddrive using a tool like StuffIt Expander.

Locate the font file(s) from step 1
(TrueType fonts will be named something like coolfont.ttf -- PostScript fonts are made up of two files, one called something like coolfont.bmp and another called coolfont) -

Drag the font file(s) into your System Folder.Your font should now be installed and available to all applications using fonts, such as MS Word or PhotoShop.
