How to Make Print Screens Like a Pro

Making print screen images on your computer is easy! With the help of Gadwin's PrintScreen, you can do it all for free!

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Windows OS
  • Internet Access
  1. Step 1
    Run, don't save.
     
    Run, don't save.

    Download and install Gadwin Printscreen from the link in the resources section below. Choose Run and then use the default settings.

  2. Step 2

    When the install is complete, find the icon on your taskbar next to your clock that looks like the one to the left.

  3. Step 3

    Right click the icon and choose properties.

    On the left menu bar, click on Source. Then click the radio button next to Rectangular Area under the "Captured Area" section.

    On the left menu bar, click on Destination. Ensure that "Copy captured area to Clipboard" and "Copy captured area to File" are check. Take note of where the Capture directory is because this is where your PrintScreen captures will be saved.

    On the left menu bar, click on Image. In the Type of Image drop down menu box, choose GIF Image (*.gif). Then click Ok.

  7. Step 7

    Now you are ready to take a print screen image. Press the Print Screen button.

  8. Step 8

    Place the mouse cursor to the top left of the image you wish to capture and the left click and hold your mouse button. Drag the rectangle outline to the lower right hand corner of the image you wish to capture. When you have the rectangle lined up, release the left mouse button.

  9. Step 9

    Right click your mouse and an image of the captured area will appear. Click the continue output button and Gadwin will inform you that the file was created.

  10. Step 10

    Goto the Destination directory that you took note of earlier and there you should have a Screenshot file!

Tips & Warnings
  • Screenshots can be saved in any format, but I chose GIF because its most compatible with websites.
  • Clean out your printscreen destination folder periodically. It can fill up fast if you print screen often!
