Step 1
Find free online hairstyle and makeover programs by using a search engine and search the terms "free makeover" or "free hairstyles online" etc. Using a variety of different search engines and searching several terms will provide you with more results to choose from.

Choose the makeover program that best suits your needs or try several. Some sites only offer hairstyles while others let you apply makeup and other accessories.
Most programs allow you to upload a photo of yourself to use in the makeover. A few will have you select similar features to your own and use an online model. -
Step 3
Follow the instructions given on the web site you choose. If you are using a photo of yourself you will need to have one that can be uploaded into the program. A photo from the shoulders up, facing forward is usually required. Some programs may have photo size and resolution restrictions.
You may want to have a photo of yourself taken just for doing the online makeovers. It is best to have your hair pulled away from your face. -
Step 4
Be aware that some web sites require you to download their programs, while others you can use directly from the web sites. Registration is often required.

Once you have uploaded your photo or found your online model, try new hairstyles, hair colors and cosmetics as you wish.
You can then save the ones you like and email them to yourself or print them out. -

Another option is to use photo editing tools to create your own free online hairstyles and makeovers with your photo. Upload your photo using the program you choose and play around with features such as cropping, copying and pasting, editing, changing colors etc. This will not likely work as well as an actual makeover program, but can still be a good option for seeing what your hair would look like shorter, a different color, etc.
