Things You'll Need:
- Nail polish remover (optional)
- cuticle cream
- Bag Balm or Lanisoh ointment
- white cotton gloves or socks
-
Step 1
Remove any nail polish. Gently wash your hands in warm, soapy water. Trim and file your nails. For truly younger looking hands, nails should be no more than 1/4 inch long, and slightly rounded. Exceedingly long or square nails are a decidedly mature look.
-
Step 2
Massage cuticle cream or oil into your cuticles and nails. Healthy Cuticles Now! by Sally Hansen is one good mid-weight cuticle cream that can be used daily. Both Sally Hansen and other brands offer many other creams and oils, depending on how healthy or damaged your cuticles are.
-
Step 3
Younger looking hands in a pretty little tin.Cover your hands with a generous amount of a skin ointment, such as Bag Balm (in that little green tin you've seen but never known what to use it for) or Lanisoh lanolin. A lotion is not concentrated enough for this application, so be sure to use an ointment. Classic Vaseline can be used, but some people don't like the scent or sources of petroleum products. It's up to you.
-
Step 4
Carefully put on your white, cotton gloves or white, cotton socks (over your hands). It's important that they are white, so that there are no dyes to stain your hands, and cotton so that your hands can "breathe". Enjoy a good night's sleep. Take off the gloves in the morning to find amazingly soft, beautiful, younger looking hands.
