How to Organize Events With Upcoming

Upcoming is a website that tracks events and things to do all around the country. It is part of the Yahoo! network, so if you already have a Yahoo! ID, you can find upcoming events in your area or any other part of the country. Here is how to use it.

Things You'll Need

• An Internet connection
• A Yahoo! ID

Instructions

1. If you don't have a Yahoo! ID, go to upcoming.yahoo.com and register with Yahoo! That's all you need to get started.

2. 

   If you have an event in mind you can search for it. Perhaps you plan to attend the South by Southwest (SXSW) Film Festival. Select "Event" and type your keywords in the search field.

3. 

   In the search results, find the event you are looking for. Click either the I'm Going or I'm Interested button. Once you click that you are going to an event, it's listed in the "My Events" tab on the main menu.

4. 

   If you click on the name of the event, you go to a detail page that tells you more about the event, points out other events in the same place, suggests groups you might join that relate to the event and more.

5. 

   You can search Upcoming by location. Here you see a search for events coming up in Albuquerque. You can search for users and venues too.

6. If you want to organize an event in your area, click the "Add Event" item in the main menu bar. You just fill in a few details about your event and submit the event.

7. You can send invitations to the event right from Upcoming. For any event you organize or plan to attend, there is an "Invite friends" link under the description of the event.
