The Harmony company has been making quality guitars for over 100 years. Recognizing that it can be very difficult for children to learn to play a full-size guitar, Harmony now manufactures miniature guitars that have been scaled down to enable children to play the guitar. Some players find it easier to play the guitar while sitting down, while others prefer to stand. Harmony children's guitars come with a strap to allow the child to play while standing. However, the means by which the guitar strap attaches to a child's guitar is different that a regular-sized guitar. Follow the steps below to put the strap on a kid's Harmony guitar.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Locate the guitar strap peg on the bottom of the guitar. The strap peg is a small metal piece approximately 1/4-inches in diameter.

  2. Step 2

Connect the end of the guitar strap that has a small hole to the strap peg on the bottom of the guitar. This hole on the guitar strap slides over the strap peg. Ensure that the peg passes entirely through the hole on the guitar strap.

  3. Step 3

Note the design of the other end of the guitar strap. Unlike guitar straps for standard-size guitars, this end of the guitar strap is constructed like a clothing belt. Notice that the end has several small holes and a metal buckle.

  4. Step 4

Loop the free end of the guitar strap around the area between the headstock and the fret board. The headstock is located at the top of the guitar and holds the strings in place. The fret board is the area where the player's fingers press down on the strings of the guitar.

  5. Step 5

Secure the free end of the guitar strap by passing it through the buckle of the strap, just as with a belt used to secure clothing.

  6. Step 6

Pull the end of the guitar strap which has passed through the buckle of the strap to ensure that the strap is secure.
