1
Commit to changing jobs. Make it your goal. Break this goal down into smaller, achievable goals and review them daily to help you stay focused on what you hope to accomplish.
-
2
Change your attitude about your present job. Don't let yourself become too negative about your current situation. Keeping a positive attitude will help you move forward. Write down the things you are grateful for that your job has allowed you to have, such as paying your mortgage, rent or car loan.

3
Update your resume. Make a note of any new accomplishments or awards associated with your current job, particularly those that align with the new job positions you will seek.
-
4
Learn a new skill, either related to your current line of work or one you're interested in pursuing. Taking a continuing education course is a smart way to learn more about a specific profession. Learning a new skill is also good to put on your resume.

5
Apply for jobs. Browse listings on different online career sites. Visit websites of the company where you wish to work, and apply for jobs you may qualify for.
-
6
Prepare for an interview. Learn about the organization where you have applied, be prepared to ask questions about the company as well as to answer questions about yourself. Dress appropriately for the interview.
-
7
Visualize change. Focusing on the results of the interview can affect how well you will do on the day of the interview. See yourself going to work on the first day of your new job. Visualize the surroundings of your new atmosphere as you would like them to appear.
