Why do you need to easily make friends while on vacation? When you are vacation, especially if you are traveling with your family, you can get pretty bored pretty easily. Fortunately, there are some things you can do to easily make new friends while you are on vacation.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Build up your courage. If you want to easily make friends while on vacation, you have to have enough guts to talk to someone that you don’t know. While this comes naturally to some people, most folks have to work at this, at least a little bit. One of the most important things to do in this regard is to remember that because you are on vacation it is not likely that you are going to see this person again if you don’t want to. So, even if you walk up to them and say something totally embarrassing, you’ll only have to live with the knowledge and memory of it. You won’t have to worry about them pointing it out to your friends back home.

  2. Step 2

Focus on your desire. You have to have to want to meet new people. To do that requires at least a little bit of interest in what in other people are doing and who they are. So when you go to talk to somebody new, show some genuine interest. Ask questions. For example, if you see someone reading a book ask them how the book is and get them to talk about the plot of the book. Before you know it, you may very well have a friend. Desire is the most important quality needed to easily make friends while on vacation.

  3. Step 3

Open your mind. Be open-minded when you are on vacation and someone comes up to talk to you unexpectedly. They may not look like the type of person that you normally hang out with. Maybe they are part of a different social group than what you are or maybe they are of a different ethnicity. Maybe they are taller or maybe they are just different from you and your friends back home in some way. Still, if you are open minded you might find that a person like that can be one of your best vacation friend possibilities.

  4. Step 4

Get contact information if you hit it off with somebody while you are on vacation. Get a phone number or an email address. Get a regular mail address. When you get back home from vacation, follow up, give them a phone call or send them an email. Maybe next year when you are vacationing again you can meet up with them again.

  5. Step 5

Realize that you have to make it happen for yourself. Nobody is going to easily make friends for you on vacation or not. You have to be persistent and you have to keep from getting discouraged when you have a setback.
