Valentines Day Card

Exchanging Valentine's Day cards is a fun yearly tradition. Make this easy pop-up card to give to someone this Valentine’s Day.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 sheets of 8x11 cardstock paper in complementary colors
  • glue stick
  • scissors
  • small pictures
  1. Step 1

Trim about one inch off the bottom and one side of an 8 x 11 sheet of cardstock. Fold the paper in half.

  2. Step 2

Cut two slits about one inch apart and two inches long in the folded side of the pop-up card.

  3. Step 3

Fold the tab back and forth to make a crease at the top of the slits.

  4. Step 4

Open the pop-up card and push the center of the tab toward the inside of the card.

  5. Step 5

Glue the Valentine's Day picture that you want to pop-up onto the tab at the center of the card. Make sure the picture is small enough to fit into the card without showing when the card is closed.

  6. Step 6

Fold the complementary piece of paper in half and glue it onto the back to complete your Valentine’s Day pop-up card.

Tips & Warnings
  • The longer the slits are, the further forward your pop-up card picture will sit.
  • Be careful not to cut the slits too long, or your picture will hang out of the Valentine’s Day card when it is closed.
  • Make multiple tabs of various lengths to have several pictures pop-up in different places.
  • Pop-up cards aren’t just for Valentine’s Day. Pop-up cards are fun to give on other holidays and birthdays too.
