How to Trace a Cell Phone Number
Perhaps you're being flooded with prank calls from a single number, or you came across an unknown number that shows up frequently on your spouse's cell phone history. You'd obviously like to find out who these numbers belong to without having to actually phone the number. You can use some online resources to trace who the mystery caller is.

1
Go to 411.com using your Internet browser. The website has a reverse directory allowing you to look up who belongs to various cell phone numbers. The site may only give you the location and service provider, but it's a start. Other websites where you can use reverse directories are Reversemobile.com and Free-reverse-cell-phone-directory.com.
-
2
Input the phone number in a search engine such as Google or Yahoo to see what comes up. When you do this, make sure to include the area code. You may find clues about your caller.
-
-
3
Try using other directors, such as Nonpublished.com, to see if you can find additional information about your caller
-
4
Block the cell phone number from calling you as well if you're being harassed. Look to see if your service provider offers a "spam control" or other similar option on your account. Some cell phones also have built-in blocking functions.
-
5
Try using a fee-based website to find the person's identity. Some options include Lookup Anyone and Intelius.
