Instructions

    • 1

Ensure that the top of the intake manifold where the carburetor sits is free from debris, dirt, oil and other foreign substances.

    • 2

Install the carburetor base gasket by sliding the gasket over the four carburetor studs on the intake manifold. Do not use silicon or gasket sealer to secure the gasket.

    • 3

Carefully place the Edelbrock carburetor over the four studs located at the top of the intake manifold. Ensure that the red Edelbrock logo on the carburetor is facing towards the front of the vehicle.

    • 4

Install the four nuts over the four studs to secure the carburetor in place. Take care not to over tighten the studs, which will damage the carburetor base gasket installed in step 2.

    • 5

Locate the flared inlets around the base of the carburetor. These inlets are for any accessories the vehicle may have which operate off of a vacuum, such as power brakes. If the vehicle is equipped with such accessories, slip the hoses for these accessories over these inlets and secure them with a hose clamp. If the vehicle does not have any vacuum accessories, these inlets may be plugged with rubber plugs available at any automotive parts store.

Install the throttle cable. The throttle cable attaches to the throttle linkage located on the driver's side of the carburetor. The throttle linkage on the carburetor has several different holes that the throttle cable can attach to. Simply slip the cable through the appropriate hold in the linkage and secure the cable with the stock bolt, nut, or clip. An Edelbrock throttle cable adapter may be required depending on your particular application.

Connect the fuel line to the carburetor. The fuel line attaches to the large metal flare on the passenger's side of the carburetor. Secure the fuel line with a clamp.
