Do you own a Nintendo DS Lite with L/R shoulder buttons that work sometimes and then fail to register the inputs randomly? Here is a simple fix that does not require any technical know how.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Mouth
  • Nintendo DS Lite
  1. Step 1

Find a safe place where people cannot see you if you are easily embarrassed.

  2. Step 2

Close and turn off your Nintendo DS Lite if it is still on.

  3. Step 3

Form a perfect seal with your lips around the broken L or R shoulder button and blow a few times. Take care not to spit on the DS very much. This is to clean out the contacts inside the DS.

  4. Step 4

Try out the buttons and see if they work. At this point if the buttons are responsive again then you are good to go. If the buttons stop working again you can repeat Step 3. This fix is not permanent and the DS will eventually stop responding to it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure your lips are fairly dry
  • The DS will eventually break down on its own. If this fix stops working then it is time to get a new DS.
