Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Foundation
  • Powder
  • Eyeliner
  • Mascara
  • Eyeshadow
  • Eyelash curler
  • Moisturizer
  • Cleanser
  • Toner
  • Blush
  • Bronzer
  • Lip gloss
  1. Step 1

Prep your skin. It is important that you cleanse, tone and moisturize your skin before you begin applying your makeup. Cleanse your skin and towel-dry it gently. Apply your favorite toner with a cotton ball or cotton round. Follow up with your favorite moisturizer. Nicole is a fan of Kiehl's Ultra Moisturizer with SPF 15. Make sure you wait at least 10 minutes before continuing on to the next step.

  2. Step 2

Apply foundation. Shake the foundation bottle so that it is adequately mixed. Once that is done, dot the foundation onto your forehead, cheeks, chin and nose. Use your fingers, a foundation brush or a damp sponge to blend the foundation into your skin. Carefully evaluate your skin and decide whether you need extra coverage. If you do, apply concealer to those areas. Follow up with a light layer of face powder to set your makeup.

  3. Step 3

Create the eyes. Nicole tends to stick with neutral-colored eyeshadows, and she enjoys playing up her eyelashes by applying bold mascara and eyeliner. Choose three neutral brown or taupe shadows. You need a light beige shadow, a medium taupe or brown shadow and a dark taupe or brown shadow. Apply the medium colored eyeshadow as a wash on your eyelid. Apply the dark shadow in the crease of your eye and blend it all together. Finish up by applying the light shade to your brow bone for a highlighting affect.

  4. Step 4

Finish up your eyes. Once your eyeshadow is complete, it's time to line your eyes. For a more dramatic look, use a liquid eye liner. Nicole is a fan of Chanel Liquid Eyeliner in Noir. Apply the eyeliner to your top eyelids. Allow the eyeliner to dry for at least 4 minutes before the final step. Once the liner is dry, curl your lashes with an eyelash curler. Apply a coat of mascara. For bolder lashes, apply a second coat of mascara.

  5. Step 5

Bronze it up. Nicole often sports a golden glow. You can easily achieve this by using a bronzer. Nicole likes bronzers from MAC Cosmetics. Use a powder brush to apply bronzer to your face. Focus on areas of your face that naturally get tanned if you're outside. These areas are the forehead, nose and cheeks. Blend the bronzer into your skin, and finish up by adding blush to the apples of your cheeks.

  6. Step 6

Create the pout. Nicole goes easy on the lip gloss and uses natural flesh-toned colors or light pinks for her pout. Choose a natural-looking lip gloss that flatters your skin tone. Apply the lip gloss, and enjoy your new Nicole Richie inspired makeup.

Tips & Warnings
  • For a full body glow, get a spray tan. Nicole Richie and many other celebrities are fans of this simple sun-free way to get a golden glow.
