Let's face it, ladies need a break from time to time. They need Me time...Down time...whatever you call it, women deserve it. Most women work at least two official jobs and several unofficial jobs...sometimes they actually get paid for one or two of their jobs. Even if they don't have kids, they work hard. Men need a break sometimes as well but this article is for the women (or the lady in your life)!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Free time
  • Baby sitter (if you have kids)
  • Desire to relax
  1. Step 1
    Yummy Food!

    Yummy Food!

The first thing you need to do to pamper yourself is to eat right. Eat more fresh fruits and fresh vegetables. Eat healthy. If you take care of your inside, you will be able to relax and enjoy your pampering.

  2. Step 2
    Calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Multi-vitamin, etc.

    Calcium, Vitamin C, Vitamin B, Multi-vitamin, etc.

Part of taking care of your insides is taking the right vitamins. You should see your doctor at least once a year for a physical and to re-evaluate the vitamins you're taking. Most people don't think of doctor visits as pampering but they would be wrong. Taking care of yourself is the most important pampering you can do for yourself.

  3. Step 3
    Soft lights

    Soft lights

Now that your insides have been pampered, it's time to take special care of the rest of you. First take a long, hot bath. Place scented Yankee candles around the room and light them. Turn your lights down low so you set the mood for relaxations. If you don't like a hot bath, you could take a hot shower.

  4. Step 4
    Pleasnt scents

You've finished your relaxing bath, take out your favorite scented Jergens lotion (lavender and vanilla are relaxing scents but you can use what you like). If you have a partner (and they're willing) ask them to put lotion all over your body, massaging it in. If you fall asleep, it's o.k., enjoy the rest. You deserve it.

  5. Step 5
    Get cozy

    Get cozy

If you are still awake, take your book someplace quiet, curl up with lots of pillows and some warm Hershey cocoa or Lipton hot tea and RELAX. Remember, this is your time for pampering.

  6. Step 6
    Take Car of Your Feet

    Take Car of Your Feet

For you, maybe a pedicure and manicure are what you want. To save money, you can trade with your teenage daughter. She gives you a manicure and pedicure (complete with a foot massage) and you let her stay up a half hour longer or let her borrow the car. You chose.

  7. Step 7
    Yummy!

    Yummy!

Maybe you crave Dove chocolate for a relaxing evening. Indulge yourself. It's your special time. Don't over do it but remember, your healthy food will be there in the morning.

  8. Step 8
    Isn't she lovely...

    Isn't she lovely...

Or a complete make-over might be your thing. If money is not an issue, get the works. New hair style, manicure, pedicure, glamor makeover, and a new outfit. Tailor it to your budget.

Tips & Warnings
  • While in the tub, maybe you'd like to read a book. Remember, you are relaxing so make it something light (Not "War and Peace").
  • Do something that makes you laugh. Laughter helps in sooo many ways. It burns calories, relieves stress and makes you feel young again (not a bad combination).
  • Playing soft instrumental music while relaxing is always recommended.
  • My motto: Listen for the music in life and take time to dance.
  • Don't spend your grocery money on a makeover. If money is tight then find something you enjoy that is free and make time to do it.
