How to Dry Clothes Indoor Without the Dryer
Many people enjoy the smell of fabric that has been dried in the sun and scented by the fresh air. Sometimes, however, the weather won't allow this to happen. Knowing how to dry indoors and being prepared ahead of time will enable you to use your inside facilities to your advantage. Indoor drying cuts utility bills and is easy to do. Things You'll Need
- Folding dryer rack
- Shower rod
- Plastic hanger
- Retractable clothesline
- Clothes pins

Folding Dryer Rack

Open the drying rack and place in the sunlight or next to an open window for a breeze.

Place small items such as socks and children's garment on the bottom racks.
Use the middle and top rods for larger items such as slacks or towels.

Collapse and store the rack when not in use.
Shower Rod

Select a strong, plastic hanger with rounded ends and be certain the rod is attached firmly to the wall.

Place jackets or lightweight sweaters on the hangers. Adjust the shoulders to match the hanger ends to prevent an odd drying crease.

Hook the hangers onto the rod, leaving space between the garments. Do not overload the rod.
Retractable Clothesline

Mount a retractable clothesline unit to one wall and the catch bracket to the opposite wall.

Pull the clothesline from the housing unit and extend the line to the opposite wall and secure to the catch bracket.

Hang your garments using clothes pins or drape them over the lines.

Remove the garments and clothes pins when the garment is dry.

Release the line from the catch bracket and allow it to retract inside the housing unit.

Tips & Warnings
Folding racks are made from wood or metal but most do not support a lot of weight at one time.
