Baby Shower Basket
A baby shower basket is simple and fun to make. Simply find the basket of your choice. You could use an old basket you have purchased second hand, or a basket that just may be laying around the house. If you want to spruce of an old basket, simply give it a couple of coats of spray paint and add a few ribbons and bows in the color of your choice. Gather small, inexpensive baby items like rattles, pacifiers, bottles, travel size baby care items and even diapers could be added to make a beautiful baby shower basket for a baby boy or a baby girl. -

Pamper Mom Basket
A pamper mom basket is a wonderful homemade baby shower gift. I received one myself and I was overjoyed with all of the little goodies that my basket held. Use the same basket idea as you would with a baby shower basket, but spruce it up for mom. You could fill the basket with items like: pedicure and manicure products, facials and/or hair treatments, gift certificates, candles, bubble bath and even a relaxation CD for mom. You are sure to surprise any mother to be with a beautiful basket full of goodies to help her relax while she is waiting for baby to arrive. -

Diaper Cake
A diaper cake is a multi-purpose homemade baby shower gift. It can serve as a decoration and a platform to hold smaller baby shower items. A diaper cake is very easy to make. You simply roll a diaper up and tape it. This is your center piece. Once you form your center piece, you continue wrapping diapers around the center piece to form the bottom layer of the cake. This is a very fun project to make. You can make a single, double, or even triple layer cake. The sky is the limit! After you form your layers, embellish the cake with ribbons, bows, and small baby items like rattles, teething rings, diaper pins, pacifiers, or anything else that you can think of. You can customize the cake for a girl or a boy, or you could make the cake to match the baby shower decoration theme. The great thing about this gift is that the small gifts and the diapers that make the cake can be used once the baby arrives. -

Receiving Blanket cake
This is similar to the diaper cake above. The only difference is that you would make the cake with rolled up receiving blankets, or cloth diapers. Roll receiving blankets into 4 or 5 inch cylinders. Use one cylinder for the center of your cake. Add other cylinders around the first to create the first layer of your cake. You can hold the blanket cylinders together with large rubber bands. You can conceal the rubber bands with ribbons and bows. Embellish your receiving blanket cake just like you would embellish the diaper cake. The great thing about this cake is that, like the diaper cake, mom can use not only the embellishments, but the receiving blankets too! -

Baby Blanket
A baby blanket is another easy to make baby shower gift. You could crochet a small baby blanket in no time at all. You do not need to have crocheting experience either. You can create a small baby blanket with a simple double or triple crochet stitch. A baby quilt is also easy to make. You can make the quilt yourself or purchase a premade quilt panel at a discount or fabric store. These premade panels are nice because they are fast and easy to finish up. Once you choose your panel, you just choose and stitch the finishing edge onto the panel. That is all that is needed to create a beautiful handmade blanket for your baby shower gift. -

Your Talents
Your homemade gift should reflect your natural gifts and talents. You will have more fun making your gift if you are not stressed out. Choose a project that you are comfortable with. Do not choose to crochet a blanket if you can't sit in the same spot for more than five minutes. Your project will only end in frustration and probably abandonment. Choosing a project that you enjoy will bring joy to you and the mother to be as well. The main idea is to have fun!
