If you have ever wanted to change the font of your browser to make it bigger or smaller, here's how to do it. This is how to change the default font in the Mozilla Firefox browser. Save yourself the eye strain from using the computer and increase the font size.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • computer
  1. Step 1

Make sure your computer is connected to the internet then open up your Firefox browser window. Look up at the top left of the browser, where your navigation bar is and find the word "tools" then click on it. A shortcut to get to the tools drop down menu is Alt T, press down Alt then T and it will drop down the menu.

  2. Step 2

Scroll down to the bottom and click on "options" which will bring up a small pop up window. Move your mouse over to the word "content" which should be the third word in your internet browser, but if it's not then just go ahead and look for content.

  3. Step 3

Once you are looking at this you will see your options to change the default font of your Firefox browser. From this page you can change the default font, size, and color of your browser. Sometimes viewing your pages in larger font can be less straining on your eyes, but this is personal preference. Taking breaks from your computer can also help.

  4. Step 4

Click on the advanced setting and make sure that the right boxes are checked for your fonts, size, and colors. Sometimes it is automatic that your settings will be overridden by each page. If you need your font sizes to remain there is also a shortcut on any page that will make it bigger. Press Control and the + sign to make the font larger, then to make it smaller press Control - and this will reduce the font again. Computers are amazing.

Tips & Warnings
  • The more that your search within your computer browsers and even just on the computer itself you will find all kinds of shortcuts. Don't be afraid to try something new, but if you become really unsure about something you are about to change err on the side of caution and ask someone computer savvy.
