Print your envelopes instead of making them out by hand.

Sending a letter can be a simple process if you are handwriting all of the required information on the envelope. However, if you have bad handwriting or if you want to assume a higher level of professionalism with your mailing, set up and print the envelope in Microsoft Word 2010.

Instructions

    • 1

Insert your envelope into the paper tray of your printer. Adjust the paper tray to fit the envelope according to your individual printer's requirements, if necessary.

    • 2

      Launch Microsoft Word.

    • 3

Click the "Mailings" tab at the top of the window, then click "Envelopes" in the Create group of the ribbon.

    • 4

Click the "Options" button, then click the drop-down menu under Envelope Size to select the type of envelope onto which you will be printing.

    • 5

Click the "Printing Options" tab at the top of the window, then click the option that corresponds to how you are feeding the envelope into the printer.

    • 6

      Click "OK."

    • 7

Type the delivery address of your recipient into the Delivery Address field.

    • 8

Type your return address into the Return Address field.

    • 9

      Click "Print."

Tips & Warnings

  • Set up a default return address for any future envelope printing by clicking "File | Options | Advanced." Scroll to the General section, then type your return address into the Mailing Address field. Click "OK" to save your changes.
