Conan O'Brien is a late-night, TV, talk-show host for NBC. Though I couldn't find a recent photo of Conan's wicketty-wicketty-whacky-wild-n-sexy hairstyle, which boasts great height and body, this depiction is slightly exaggerated. I don't know what his stylist is thinking, other than, "bigger is better," when it comes to styling his hair for the show these days, but if you happen to be up during the 1 a.m. hour, I encourage you to check it out. Lately, I can't seem to focus on either his monologue or dialogue with guests, because I am mesmerized by his amazing coiffeur. If you want to mimic this look either for fun or to achieve a new style for the new year, by all means, just do it up--"up-do" it!! Conan's style is a force with which to be reckoned.

Things You'll Need:

  • Hair styling products for volume
  • Round Hairbrush
  • Hair dryer
  • Ultra-firm hairspray and spray, spray, spray
  • OPTIONAL: "old-school" rollers and shine spray
  1. Step 1

Start by washing your hair, preferably with "high-volume" (Vavoom?) products that will help in building height. Start with the shampoo and conditioner; then apply a palm-full of mousse as you proceed to attain the coveted, "CONAN" look.

  2. Step 2

With the help of a hair dryer on its regular setting (high, hot), start blowing your hair out; turning your head upside down and using a ROUND BRUSH, to achieve the large, puffy wave on top.

  3. Step 3
    go

While still drying, as the hair becomes more dry, generously spray with firm-hold, aerosol spray along the hair in the brush and continue applying heat. This will set the wave more permanently. Be Careful using the brush in this manner, because your hair COULD get tangled, and nothing is more painful than rescuing hair held hostage by a round, wire brush. So please, please exercise caution with this step! If this option is too scary to attempt, use "old-school" rollers to get that same look.

  4. Step 4

Once your hair is completely dry and the proper look is achieved, give a final, ultra-hold spritz or spray all over for staying power. An extra boost of finish, shine spray will complete this look for the fashion conscious. Tune into Conan tonight to see how you compare!
