There are ways to monetize blogs for earning income online, as you will see in this article. After all, if you enjoy writing and blogging, why not capitalize on your efforts by earning some money from your blog(s)?

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A blog that is up and running
  • The desire to earn money from your blog
  • The willingness to invest some time (but not money!) in your blog monetizing efforts.
  1. Step 1

There are ways to monetize blogs that involve spending money, but this article is focused on ways that involve time rather than money. For starters, have you considered the Google Adsense program? It is free to join, and they offer plenty of tips regarding how to get the most out of your blogs which contain Google Adsense advertising. Kontera is another program you may want to consider. (Again it is free to sign up.)

  2. Step 2

When monetizing blogs, consider joining an established affiliate marketing program, such as the referral program at Amazon.com. Again, this does not require you to spend any money (only some time to get it set up). See Amazon.com for more details about their affiliate referral program. (Note that affiliate marketing is really not everyone's cup of tea. If you are not comfortable with the idea, you may prefer to stick with Pay Per Click advertising programs to monetize blogs, such as Google Adsense, which was mentioned above).

  3. Step 3

If you have a "niche blog" on a specific topic, such as a blog about a specific health-related topic like losing weight or treating acne, you may want to use a health-related affiliate program as a way to monetize blogs about health and wellness.

  4. Step 4

Use keywords and phrases in your blog posts that are frequently searched for on Google and other search engines, as this can help increase your blog's popularity over time.

Tips & Warnings
  • Now that you have set up your blogs to start earning money online, you will want to drive traffic to your sites so that people can see (and hopefully "click on") your pay per click advertisements and/or affiliate links. Article marketing is a tried and true method for driving traffic to your website or blog. Many people like to submit their marketing articles to established article directories like Ezine.com, but there are several additional article directories that are also worthy of your consideration.
  • All of the blog monetizing options listed in this article are no-cost. A quick word of caution: It is very easy to spend money on online money making programs, but it is not as easy to actually make money. When working to monetize blogs, please try your hardest to stick with as many free (or extremely low cost) methods as much as you possibly can, especially during these difficult economic times.
