How to Make Mineral Makeup

The thought of makeup being good for your skin is odd to some people, but mineral makeup really is. It provides protection for your skin and flawless coverage and won't clog pores. Many of us don't own this product because of the retail price, but you can make your own mineral makeup at home. This simple recipe is for a translucent powder that will float on your skin and not settle into those pesky fine lines and wrinkles.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• 3 parts sericite mica
• 1 part corn starch
• 1/2 part boron nitride
• 1/2 part zinc stearate or magnesium stearate
• Pinches of sparkle gold, pearl pink and bronze mica powders
• Plastic zip-top bag
• Sifter containers

1. Combine the sericite mica, corn starch, boron nitride and zinc stearate or magnesium stearate in a zip-top bag.

2. Blend the powders by rubbing the bag together.

3. Add the colored mica a little at a time until a soft shade appears.

4. Cut a bottom corner of the bag and fill your sifter containers.
