How to Have Fun at Work
January 30th is National Have Fun at Work Day!
There are many more things to work than just business meeting after business meeting. We spend most of our lives at our work location, so why not to try and make the best of it.

1
First try to bond with some of your co-workers. I am not saying you have to become best friends with them, but if you are familiar and comforatble with them it will make the day run smoother. Try going out to lunch with a group of your co-workers. The more familiar you are with them the more fun you will end up having in the long run.

2
Celebrate birthdays by the month. Instead of being bombarded with birthday after birthday, pick one day a month, when you will celebrate all the birthdays for that month. Plan a time to get together in the cafeteria or a meeting room, everyone who does not have a birthday that month can contribute towards a cake (or have someone volunteer to make it) and have a card signed by everyone.

3
Personalize your desk, but do not go overboard. Try to add a touch of you to your desk. Add a picture of your family, only one, too many may overtake the desk and eventually become a distraction.
-
4
Always walk around with a smile! The more your smile, the happier you will feel. Say "hi" to everyone and smile. Chances are they will say "hi" back and your smile will put a smile on their face.

5
Once a month maybe host a pot luck at your work. Put a sign up sheet where everyone can see and sign up. Try to have it the same time each month. This will give everyone a chance to show off their cooking skills and gives everyone time away from their desks.

Tips & Warnings
Make sure to plan things with co-workers during the slowest part of the week. You do not want your plans to backfire and interfere with production.
Check with your boss or human resources department before planning anything just incase it is not within company policy to do so.

Great tips. Take some breaks and go for walks outside when you can. -

I often coordinate OMG (Oh My God) nites with the office, where we go out for appetizers after work. It's open to everyone...even those I don't really care for...but that's what it's all about. :)
