Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Wipe your forks clean before installing any new hardware. Any grit or dirt under your mounting brackets can damage your motorcycle, so a clean surface is essential.

  2. Step 2

Loosen the existing top right bolt on your fork. You will need to loosen all four bolts on the fork in order to replace them with the new mounting hardware.

  3. Step 3

Remove the new mounting hardware from the package and install the first new bolt in the hole that you just vacated. Be sure to tighten it firmly, but do not over-tighten as you may need to readjust once you mount your windshield.

  4. Step 4

Unscrew the bottom right bolt on the motorcycle fork and replace it with the new bolt. Continue this process until you have replaced all four existing bolts with the new mounting hardware bolts.

  5. Step 5

Check your bolts with your level to be sure they are aligned. The bolts must sit even with each other to properly hold the windshield.

  6. Step 6

Slide the windshield into the rubber mounts on the brackets and close the clamps. They may be require a bit of pressure as they can be difficult to close.

  7. Step 7

Sit on your motorcycle to make sure the windshield is at the right height. You can open the clamps and slide the windshield up or down as necessary.

Tips & Warnings
  • Take care when replacing your hardware. Make sure that you have the proper tools to remove your existing bolts to prevent stripping or damage to the fork.
