How to Apply Loose Powder Mineral Makeup
Loose mineral powder makeup has become all the rage in the cosmetics world, and with good reason. The makeup is better for your skin, and its crystalline composition makes it reflect light, giving you a more natural glow. The cost of a higher-end brand of loose mineral powder is considered an investment because not a lot is needed for each application, so it lasts for a long time. There isn't much difference between applying this kind of makeup and regular matte powder, except to make sure that you aren't heavy-handed with your makeup brushes. Does this Spark an idea?

1
Choose the correct mineral powder and mineral-based foundation for your skin tone. Test the color on your face, not on your hands, arms or chest, as your face is a different color than these parts of your body.
-
2
Turn on all the light sources you have around your mirror, or bring in a makeup lamp to ensure you have proper lighting. Don't put on your makeup in a dimly lit room.
-
-
3
Wash your face as you normally would with your cleanser and pat dry.
-
4
Lightly apply moisturizer. Give your skin time to completely absorb the moisturizer before applying any makeup, or the cosmetics won't go on smoothly.
-
5
Cover acne or other blemishes with a concealer. Don't go too heavy with it since you will be layering foundation and powder over it.
-
6
Squeeze a little of the mineral-based foundation onto your hand or an uncontaminated surface like the lid of a jar. The makeup is formulated to be used sparingly, so you don't need a lot.
-
7
Dip a makeup brush of good quality, like a kabuki brush, into the foundation, and lightly brush the foundation onto your face in a swirling motion. A brush is better to use than your finger because it applies the makeup move evenly.
-
8
Start at your forehead and brush downward when applying to the nose and the area above the lip. Then brush it beneath the eyes, across the cheeks and chin, the jawline and neck. Lightly dip the brush into the foundation as needed.
-
9
Make sure the foundation is well-blended along your jawline and hairline so that you don't have a "border" of one skin color next to another.
-
10
Give the liquid makeup a few minutes to dry to prevent from putting on too much.
-
11
Tap some of the loose mineral powder into the lid of its jar or on a clean surface. Again, you don't need a lot of the powder to cover your face due to its intense composition.
-
12
Dip a fresh, high-quality makeup brush into the powder and twirl it a little to knock off the excess.
-
13
Apply the mineral powder to your face in the same manner as you did the mineral-based foundation in Step 8.
-
14
Let the power set for a few minutes.
-
15
Inspect your face, especially along the jawline, hairline and chin to determine if you need to apply any more. If the makeup is sitting on top of any fine lines in your face, lightly brush it off with your skin.
