1
Mix 1/2 cup of cinnamon with 1/2 cup of applesauce. Roll out the dough and cut into deliciously scented gingerbread cookies. Allow the cookies to harden for 24 hours, and decorate with colorful icing and candy buttons. Poke small holes in the tops before they are dry and thread ribbon through them to hang from the tree.

2
Make a garland that looks sweet enough to eat but will last for years. Use polymer clay in red and white or other candy colors and make a long rope with stripes or swirls. Slice the rope into 1/2-inch thick candy-like disks. Poke a needle through the edges of the disks and string the "candies" together

Buy an assortment of colorfully wrapped Christmas candies. Bundle them up in plastic baggies, or clear or colored plastic wrap. Tie the open ends closed with ribbon curled with scissors. Hang the goodie bags on the tree with the promise of distributing them when your family helps take down the tree.

4
Purchase foil-wrapped candies decorated like snowmen, nutcrackers, teddy bears, bells and Santa Claus. Glue ribbon loops to the backs and hang them around the tree. Offer guests a treat from the tree when they come to visit.

5
Decorate foam balls or disks to look like lollipops by wrapping them with pretty colors of cellophane. Glue lollipop or popsicle sticks to the bottom, gathering the cellophane at the "neck" of the sucker with a ribbon. Glue a ribbon loop on the back to hang them by.

Tips & Warnings
Candy canes are a quick, inexpensive addition to your candy themed tree. Stick with traditional red and white, or choose bright color variations.
Don't hang chocolate candies on the tree if you have pets, as chocolate can be fatal to them.
