How to Use the Throne Room in Dominion
Of all of the action cards in Dominion, the Throne Room is the only one that can't function on its own. You need another action card in your hand to play the Throne Room, which allows you to play the other action card and double its effect. Paired with the right card, this can be devastatingly powerful.

Scan the available action cards at the beginning of the game to find likely pairings with Throne Room. Focus especially on cards that read "+1 card, +1 action," such as the Market and Spy.

Purchase a non-Throne Room card before you buy the Throne Room; there's no point having a Throne Room in your deck until you have a target for it, and the other card will help you in the meantime.

Buy the Throne Room as soon as you have two or three other action cards. This will allow you to double the effects of any other action card in your hand, giving you extra purchasing power during your buy phase, or the ability, for example, to use the Mine twice to upgrade a Copper.

Focus on playing the Throne Room on cards that give you more cards and actions, such as the Laboratory and Village. Doing this will essentially let you play the Laboratory or Village twice, doubling the amount of cards you draw and additional actions you gain. This will allow you to draw at least two cards (four with Laboratory) and play at least two additional action cards (four with Village).

Play the Throne Room on the Feast to gain a pair of 5-cost cards when trashing your Feast. This is a quick way to rapidly improve your deck.

Avoid playing the Throne Room on cards such as Militia where a second iteration won't help you much.
