Step 1
Choose a twitter username that fits with the name or message of your blog or website for continuity. If you are an active personality on your website, you can also use your own name - using your own name helps people feel more connected to you.
-
Step 2
Create your own background image for your twitter account that gives the name of your blog, your tagline, and a brief description of your blog's mission.
-
Step 3
Add links to your tweets leading back to your blog posts. Use http://tinyurl.com to change long website addresses to manageable tweet inserts.
-
Step 4
Use the Twitter search function to find bloggers and tweeters who have similar interests as your website and follow them.
-
Step 5
Don't just talk about your posts or your blog - make friends, respond to other people's tweets, and become involved in the community. If you don't then your tweets are just promotional spam!

on 9/30/2009 I like it! I am going to jump in to Twitter. Have been avoiding it, basically because I did not understand and did not think I could keep up, but the time has come, I must :-) Thanks.
