Cross Dress for Less (and look fabulous!)
Cross Dress for Less (and look fabulous!)

Cross dress clothing can be expensive, often because more fabric is needed to cover a man's body, and because cross dressing boutiques are still a niche market. Sometimes the most flattering outfits can be the priciest. If you want to live life as a cross dresser to the fullest, but are on a budget, here are some tricks to help you look great for less.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Invest in some high quality body shaping undergarments. Even the cheapest clothes look fabulous when they are draped over a smashing bod. Although these garments are expensive, they cost far less than maintaining a wardrobe of specially tailored tranny clothes.

  2. Step 2

Learn how to sew. If you can make your own alterations and even sew your own clothes, you will not only save money, but you will also achieve a unique style that is all you. Check with a local craft or fabric store to see if they offer classes.

  3. Step 3

Try shopping at thrift stores for more variety. Often they have a large selection of plus size dresses and women's business suits. With your sewing skills, you can make adjustments so the clothes fit you well.

  4. Step 4

If you have cross dressing friends with similar measurements, combine your clothing resources so you can both double your wardrobes.

  5. Step 5

Don't forget that the little things like make-up, jewelry, hair, nails, and shoes can add feminine touches where your outfit may be lacking. Try not to go overboard on accessories. As long as you wear your clothes with flair and confidence, the price tag won't matter so much.
